Guest Access

The Guest Interface property enables guests to set Samsung AP for the access to a separate network. You can set the Samsung AP to make two different radio networks, safe "Internal" LAN and public "Guest" network, operated at the same AP.

Setting Guest Interface

Establishing Guest Network Physically separated

The procedure to set a guest network physically separated is as follows:

  1. Make two cable connections of internal LAN and guest Network from the network port of AP.
  2. As described in Ethernet (Wired) Setting, change the Ethernet (Cable) setting to separate the Internal LAN and the Guest LAN physically.
  3. ((As described in Guest Network Setting, activate Guest Access and select "LAN Port".)

  4. As described in Radio Setting, set radio interface setting and SSID (Network Name) at both ends of Internal LAN and Guest Network.

Establishing Guest Network by Means of Virtual LAN

Notes

If you set Guest Network and Internal Network over Virtual LAN (VLANs), your switch and DHCP server should support VLAN.

In advance, set the port of the switch to treat VLAN tagging packet as mentioned in IEEE 802.1Q standard.

Internal Network and Guest Network can be set on Virtual LAN as follows:

  1. Use only one cable connection from a network port of AP to WAN. (The port should be set to treat VLAN tagging packet in advance.)
  2. For Ethernet setting of Internal Network and Guest Network on VLAN, refer to Ethernet (Wired) Setting.
  3. (As described in Guest Network Setting, activate Guset Access and select "VLAN WAN Port".)

  4. As described in Radio Setting, set radio interface setting and SSID (Network Name) at both ends of Internal LAN and Guest Network.
